The Business Lighthouse for Water Technology

Denmark must be a lighthouse beacon in water technology solutions that the rest of the world will be looking towards. The ambition of the Lighthouse is to gather the stakeholders in the ecosystem around ambitious goals and create the innovation that can significantly boost Danish water industry exports while contributing to the goal of a cleaner water environment and a climate-neutral water sector.

A united water sector

The Business Lighthouse for Water Technology has its epicenter in Mid Jutland and is built around two leading innovation platforms in water technology - Water Valley Denmark in Aarhus and Klimatorium in Lemvig.

The Business Lighthouse for Water Technology is a program consisting of 7 focus areas, 2 projects, and 6 main activities that will, among other things, support research and innovation until February 2026, contribute to the development of a stronger ecosystem, and ensure access to qualified labor.

The ambition is to create a strong national flagship that brings together companies, water utilities, knowledge institutions, and municipalities across the country to promote the green transition, combat climate risks, and harness the potential in the development of Danish water technology and solutions.

The 7 focus areas are:

  • Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
